Information We Collect

To provide a seamless experience, we collect and process certain data:

Personal Data: If your app involves a login or user profile, we may collect your name, email address, or phone number. We only collect what's necessary for the service.

OTP/Verification Data: We use a specialized PinView component to securely handle the input of verification codes or PINs. This data is processed securely and not stored unnecessarily.

Media/Images: Through the ImagePicker library, we access only the specific images you choose to upload for your profile or posts. We never access your entire gallery.

Permissions We Request

Our app requires the following permissions to function correctly. Each permission serves a specific purpose:

Permission Purpose & Usage
INTERNET & Network State Used by Volley to fetch data and check if your device is connected to the internet. Essential for app functionality.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Used by Firebase (FCM) to send you real-time updates regarding polls and activity. You can disable this anytime.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Required (up to Android 12) to allow you to select images from your gallery using the ImagePicker. We request minimal access.
WIFI State To optimize data usage and app performance based on your connection. Helps reduce mobile data consumption.

Permission Control: You can review and modify app permissions anytime through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if permissions are denied.

Third-Party Libraries & Data Usage

We use several industry-standard libraries to improve your experience. Each may process data as described below:

Firebase (FCM)
To send push notifications and keep you updated about polls and activities.
Volley
To handle secure network requests and data communication with our servers.
Glide
To efficiently load and cache images for a smoother, faster user interface.
ImagePicker
To allow you to safely choose photos from your gallery or camera for uploads.
SDP & SSP
To ensure the app's layout and text scale correctly on all screen sizes and devices.
SwipeRefreshLayout
To allow you to manually refresh content within the app with a natural swipe gesture.
PinView
To provide a secure and user-friendly interface for entering OTPs or security codes.

Library Security: All third-party libraries are regularly updated to their latest secure versions. We only use libraries from trusted sources with good security track records.

Media and Photos

We respect your gallery's privacy. Our app follows strict guidelines when accessing your media:

Selective Access: We do not automatically scan your photos. Our app only accesses the specific file you select through the ImagePicker for the purpose of uploading content to our platform.

No Background Scanning: The app does not run in the background to access your media. Media access only occurs when you actively choose to upload a file.

Uploaded images are stored securely on our servers and are only accessible to you and anyone you explicitly share them with through the app's sharing features.

Data Security

We implement commercially acceptable security measures to protect your data. However, please note that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Our Security Measures:

  • Encryption of sensitive data in transit using SSL/TLS
  • Secure authentication methods
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Limited data retention policies

We use Volley for secure data fetching, but we encourage users to use the app in a secure network environment and keep their devices updated with the latest security patches.

Your Role in Security: For your protection, we recommend using strong, unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication where available, and avoiding public Wi-Fi when accessing sensitive information.

Children's Privacy

Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Age Restriction: If you are under 13 years of age, please do not use our app or provide any personal information through it. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at the contact details provided in Section 9. We will take necessary steps to remove that information from our servers.
